One of the ways people begin to slip into depression is he change in thought patterns. Not necessarily from positive to negative, but from hopefully to what the person perceives as 'realistic'. For many people suffering from depression, they do not seek help or want help because they see their problems as 'the fog lifted, they are finally seeing their problems for the truth they are'. And it can be incredibly hard to get out of that headspace.

There are many effective treatments for this, and for some? All it takes is talking to someone who /doesn't talk and doesn't judge/. I stress this because most therapists are trained to listen without giving advice. Instead of saying how they feel, they ask the person who they feel. Because it isn't about what the therapist thinks, but what the depressed person thinks. It can be very hard to not offer advice, especially to someone who you know very well. But.. if you know someone who could use help? Try that. And if they still are hurting? Please help them in any way you can. Nobody deserves to die for the hurt inside.
